Basically, anytime you change something inside the motor such as the controller or nylon gear, you have to cut out the rubber or silicone protection.
It will be difficult to get these grommets clean enough to re-use, so we recommend replacing them. This will ensure a proper seal and minimize any water ingress or damage to the wires.
This item is suitable for the Bafang BBSHD motors.
